Think they ever feel bad for going slowly in the passing lane?
I’m assuming no, so I’m not going to feel guilty.

I almost never feel bad about passing people. Especially if they are going at it below the speed limit

Those are stock 928 wheels, I think available for model year 1982 or 83 onward.

I would pass them, berate them later at the office, and possibly dock their pay.

They were going 75 in a 70 and I wasn’t riding there ass or anything. I passed on the right and got off the highway, then they followed me a little ways to the work parking lot. My first thought was “great, I’m going to have to hear Bob say ‘you sure are speedy’ ”.
But really Bob should have just moved over.

My coworkers and I were bitching about bad drivers in our office building. There’s a woman with a white mini with black stripes who is a TERRIBLE driver that I avoid at all costs (slow in the left lane, can’t turn left across traffic to save her life, doesn’t always look before changing lanes, just generally oblivious on the road) . At least half of my coworkers have thought it was me on occasion.
But no, I wouldn’t feel bad. Most would probably try to race me if it happened though.

I support this idea until it effects speeders.

Getting mistaken for a bad driver sounds like no fun. But they would try to race you?! Maybe I should get along with my coworkers more.

One of my coworkers had a 328 and I was driving my 1989 Subaru 1.8L XT (non turbo so like 85 HP). He was supposed to follow me to a project site and I dusted him 4 ways to sunday and he showed up 10 minutes after I did and complained about how fast I drove. I was not even keeping up with traffic or reving out my car like usual trying not to drop him. Some people just don’t get how to drive and that is sad.

The closest Metro station to my office is on the same road as the last several blocks of my drive in to the office, so I often drive past Metro-riding coworkers walking from the station.
Sometimes thanks to the long-ass light at the corner by my office, those coworkers end up at their desks before I do.

I live out in the country in a little development of 5 homes. I’m usually the first or second one leaving, but one time one of my neighbors pulled out just ahead of me, going the same way as me. I’m not sure, but I think it was a teenage daughter from one of the families. The speed limit out there is 45 miles an hour, but most people drive 60. Anyway, she was driving a few mph over the limit, far below my normal pace . I was able to be patient the first few miles, even though there were clear and easy places to pass, but finally did a very slow, polite pass in an open stretch and went on my way.

Yup. I have a radar detector in my M3, and used to run it all the time, but then my kids started asking about it, and I told them it told me when I needed to slow down... Sounded better than saying, “It helps Daddy break the law without consequences.”. I leave it in the trunk pretty much all the time now, and only bring it out for backroadtrips.

I lived in the country when I was a teenager. I had no qualms about passing anything/everything that was going slower than me. Then came the day that my mom called right after I got home (latchkey kid) to ask me why I was passing people on the road. Someone saw me, knew who I was, knew how to reach my mom at work, and called her, all in the 10 minutes it took to me get home from school.

Traffic’s always been too heavy for me to feel bad about passing anyone, even coworkers. Thanks to the route and time of day, speeding’s rarely an option anyway . In my commuting experience, passing or being passed is really more of a test of who make s better lane choice s.
( Sidenote: My coworkers used to get out of their cars in t he middle of a traffic jam and pretend to road rage against each other for fun . Looking back on it now, I don’t remember if these performances ever actually got physical, but FWIW they were wrestling fans and tried to go out of their way to be convincing . Of course, we were all familiar with local traffic and signal patterns, so everyone was back in their cars before they had a chance to hold up traffic .)

I like my local office a lot. We’ve been trying to get corporate to sponsor a Lemons entry for us since the rest of the company gets a softball team (lame) but no luck yet.

75 in a 70 on a Detroit freeway? That’s just begging to be passed.

From the north, damn near bumper-to-bumper through Oxford & Lake Orion to Auburn Hills.
